Call sheets are used on the day of filming to record the time everyone arrives, the location of the shoot and the weather on the day of the shoot. They are to prove that actors/members of the crew were present for filming on that day.

The first section is just detailing the project taking place. Here I listed the title of the video, the producer (which I assumed was my college) and me as the director. I made a section for me to write down the date of filming, this was so I can keep track of what days the shoot took place.
The next section mainly focuses on location. I only put 3 rows because I doubt I will be visiting more than 3 locations in one day. However if I do go over the limit, I’ll just take notes on the back of the sheet where the other locations are. I made sure to note the time of day, as well as the weather conditions. This is just in case shooting doesn’t go as well as planned, so I can go back to that location on a very similar day and time so it reduces the risk of continuity.
Third section is for the cast of the film being on set on that day. This records who was there at the time, and the phone number is for someone to contact them if they haven’t arrived on set.
The fourth section is basically the same as the third, only this is for the crew members. My role is going to be spaced out since this is an individual project but I am confident I can do this because I’ve done it twice before and achieved good grades. I listed my step dad as the second lighting operator because he’s helped me with lighting before. I listed Ioan and Daisy as costume designers since I’m relying on them to bring the appropriate clothing. I listed myself working on makeup because I’m planning on using fake blood which ties into special effects makeup. The final line of the table is for whoever not part of the crew on the day decides to help me out. I live with my mother and brother too so I’m not sure if they’ll try to help me out on anything, so I listed ‘other’ as another option.
Call sheets are important to keep track of what happened on what day. They give the opportunity to back track on filming days so that if an extra footage needs to be filmed at a certain location, the call sheets allows you to find a time and weather condition similar to what it was originally.
I will probably have to edit this document a few days before filming in case anything changes in the next few weeks. I might find someone to help me out or someone may drop out of the project. In the meantime, I just need to finish few more documents before I move onto the more detailed jobs of the project.
