Booking the college studio

In my last few blog posts I mentioned that I was planning on booking the photography studio at college to film. Judith advised me to go as soon as possible considering that Level 2’s and Year 1’s may need to use the studio around the same time as me.

If I didn’t need to use the studio I would’ve filmed during Easter, however that isn’t the case and I’ll be quite late on filming. Despite this, I’ll be using my time in Easter to edit or update my blog posts to make sure they are up to date and have enough information provided on them. This goes for my paperwork in this project too.

I went to see whoever was working in the store room to book a place in the studio for next Tuesday (9th April) from 2.30. I thought that an hour would be enough time to figure out the placements of lighting and different levels of lighting and techniques. I also booked the Monday and Tuesday after Easter (29th & 30th April) both from 12-4 which gives me 8 hours in total to film my video. Those were the only dates my actors were available but I’m confident that 8 hours is enough to film a 2 minute or so video – if everything goes right unlike last time.

I left a note with the store room of the dates and times (the person in the room didn’t have access to the computer just yet) so tomorrow I’ll go and check to see if they were booked in for me. I’m hoping that there were free slots for those days and times of filming. I chose to book 3 weeks in advance for the actual filming in case I wasn’t able to book those times in a week before.

Now that I’ve sorted out a date and time, I can finally finish off the production schedule. I need to add in the practise shoot as well, but it won’t take me long to complete. I’m hoping I can stick to the production schedule so that once filming is out of the way I can proceed to editing and finishing the project.
